Public Awareness Raising and Education in the Prespa Lakes Basin
Small Grant Program for NGOs/CSOs
For the purposes of the project “Integrated Ecosystem Management in the Prespa Lakes Basin of Albania, FYR Macedonia and Greece”, the Office of the United Nations Development Programme is pleased to announce the launch of the Small Grants Program.
The UNDP – GEF project is seeking to encourage NGOs and civil society organizations from the Prespa Lakes Basin to develop and implement a series of public awareness activities that would include a strong education and capacity building component, with the aim to raise awareness and knowledge amongst relevant stakeholders and the general population living in the region on the following important issues:
Areas of intervention:
1)Biodiversity & Conservation
2)Water and water issues
3)Fish and fisheries
4)Agriculture
5)Forests
6)Tourism
7)Trans-boundary Governance
The UNDP GEF Prespa Project Small Grants Program will provide individual project grants in the amount up to $10,000 to Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) selected on a competitive basis. The proposed activities should be implemented in a period not longer than 8 months
The selection of the projects to be supported by the UNDP GEF Prespa Project Small Grants Program will be carried out by the evaluation committeecomprised of representatives of UNDP and counterparts of the project, which will also monitor the implementation and provide technical assistance to selected organizations.
